ASCSU to host Utah State’s student government

Utah State University’s student government will be at CSU Friday and Saturday.  The Associated Students of Colorado State University will be hosting several members of the student government in an effort to collaborate on several issues identified on both campuses.

“We figured it would be a great opportunity for our students to meet and discuss different things on our campuses,” said Samantha Guinn, ASCSU student body president.

Guinn and Utah State’s student body President Douglas Fiefia met at a conference in Washington over the summer and began to discuss the possibility of such an event.

“Since we are playing them in the [football] game Saturday evening, we though that working together before the game would be great,” according to Guinn.

Among the events will be several breakout sessions for various ASCSU departments to meet with their counterparts from USU in an attempt to foster better conversations and collaboration between the schools as well as a presentation on RamRide in the hopes that USU will adopt a similar program, according to Guinn.

They will also be attending some of the homecoming events, such as the parade on Friday afternoon and the football game on Saturday.
