Colorado State University Athletics and Orientation and Transition Programs will be teaming up Saturday for the Game Day Experience, when first-year students have the chance to welcome the CSU Rams football team onto the field before their game against the University of California at Davis.
“We want to introduce new students to what it means to come together as a community around a common goal and create a culture of engagement and pride at CSU,” said Tim Brogdon, marketing coordinator for CSU Athletics.

According to Brogdon, Hughes Stadium, home of the CSU Rams football team, is one of just a few venues at CSU where a large group of students can come together.
“It’s not about athletics, it’s about getting students in the door,” Brogdon said.
Students who have signed up to attend are meeting at the Moby Arena parking lot before being bussed to the game at Hughes Stadium. There will be a tailgate, with free food, DJ, and school supplies for those students attending, according to Brogdon.
After the tailgate the students will have a chance to go onto Sonny Lubick Field and create a tunnel for the Rams football team to run though when they enter the stadium. Participants will then watch the Rams take on the Aggies of UC-Davis.
