Victim of Saturday shooting identified

Update:

The victim of the shooting incident Saturday has been identified by Fort Collins Police as Jalen Marquise Robinson, 19. He is currently at a local hospital.

It is believed that there was a verbal altercation between several people just prior to the shooting. A suspect in the shooting has not yet been identified.

Fort Collins police responded to a reported shooting of a 19-year-old male on Saturday at 2:42 a.m. after nearby residents heard shots fired, according to a press release.

The incident occurred in the area of Avocet Road and Eagle Drive. After sustaining an gunshot wound to his head, the 19-year-old male was transported to the hospital by a personal vehicle to the hospital. He is in a local hospital being treated for his injuries at this time.

According to the press release, suspects have not been identified and the investigation is still ongoing.
