Nineteen-year-old Colorado State University student Caitlin Vinsonhaler died in a single-car crash in Pueblo early Saturday morning, according to the Pueblo County Coroner.
Authorities said Vinsonhaler sat in the passenger seat of a silver Subaru that flipped several times when the driver, 22-year-old Sean Himmelberg, lost control of the vehicle. Himmelberg and Vinsonhaler were both pronounced dead on scene.
Police said neither victim appeared to be wearing a seatbelt. Police cited speed as a factor based on witness statements but are uncertain if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
Vinsonhaler would be a sophomore at CSU this fall, majoring in biological science.
