Colorado snowboarder dies in Mt. Hood ice tunnel collapse
August 5, 2013

Colin Backowski, originally from Pine, Colo., was with a group of six other snowboarders when a tunnel he was snowboarding through on Oregon’s Mt. Hood collapsed, burying him under 8 feet of ice and snow, according to Deanna Hackney and Janet DiGiacomo at CNN.
Search teams found the 25-year-old’s body Sunday, when 12 people used chainsaws and other hand tools to dig his body out.
