Durrell intake fan catches fire

Dell Rae Moellenberg, a CSU Police Department public information officer, confirmed Monday that a CSU employee pulled a fire alarm in Westfall Residence Hall early Monday morning after smelling smoke. A Durrell intake fan had malfunctioned and caught fire, prompting the Poudre Fire Authority to respond.

No significant damage appears to have resulted from the fire and an investigation into its cause is taking place.

Author Barbara Shapiro to speak at Hilton

Whether you’re an aspiring author or just a fan, this event is free, so what else do you want? Author Barbara Shapiro will be speaking Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Hilton located at 425 W. Prospect. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a book sale and signing after the speech. Shapiro has written four screenplays and seven books, one of which is non-fiction. Her most publication is “The Art Forger,” a novel detailing three generations of art thieves.
