KCSU Review: Guilty pleasure songs

The KCSU DJs plead the fifth. We are charged with guilty pleasures: A criminal offense against better consciences. You know you love them, too.

  1. “Diver” by AlunaGeorge — DJ Waylo: But basically all of Body Music is blisssss.
  2. “Eenie Meenie” by Justin Bieber feat. Sean Kingston — DJ Quest: And how could you hate on the Biebs?? #belieber4lyfe.

  3. “Heavy Metal Lover” by Lady Gaga — DJ Alchemy: It’s so dirty and good and I never do homework without it.
  4. “California” by Phantom Planet — DJ Fox.
  5. “Style” by Taylor Swift — DJ Meenbeatz This also doubles as an autumn song because it just screams Ugg boots and pumpkin spice lattes.
  6. “Beez in the Trap” by Nikki Minaj — DJ Trent.
  7. “Hold On” by The Jonas Brothers — DJ Sapphire.
  8. “I Don’t Care” by Icona Pop — Captain Jack: I feel like I should be way guiltier but I DON’T CARE! I LOVE IT!!!
  9. “Good Kisser” by Usher — DJ Atlas.
  10. “Call It Off” by Shamir — DJ B—RAD.
  11. “Love Story” by Taylor Swift — DJ G—Love: Not guilty at all.
  12. “Cruise (Remix feat. Nelly)” by Florida Georgia Line — DJ Eric.
  13. “Heart Beat” by Ross Lynch — DJ Demo: It’s a Disney Channel kid singing and it reminds of a simpler time when Aaron Carter was popular.
  14. “My Console” by Eiffel 65 — DJ Chromatone: I consider eurodance to be a trashy genre of electronic music from the turn of the century, but I could never bring myself to delete Eiffel 65 from my music library. When I lived in Italy, Eiffel 65 was one of the two musical groups I heard on the radio every day (the other was Coldplay, for the record).

  15. Don’t F—ing Tell Me What to Do” by Robyn — Hannah from the Knickknack Hour: This beat is killin’ me.
  16. “Ridin’ Dirty” by Chamillionaire — DJ Bruce: Definitely a guilty pleasure because this song is way more hardcore than I am.
  17. “Hold On” by The Jonas Brothers — DJ Sapphire: This is definitely a guilty pleasure because not only did I love this group growing up, but I swear I still know almost all the lyrics to all of their songs. “Hold On” is one song that I know too well.
  18. “Gold Digger” by Kanye West, Jamie Foxx — DJ J.Schway: I know, I know. But d—n… that’s my best defense.
  19. “Super Model” by Ru Paul — DJ Hyperballad.
  20. “Where Are Ü Now” by Justin Bieber, Skrillex and Diplo — Taylor from the Knickknack Hour: I don’t understand anything about this song, like the umlaut.
  21. “Sydney (I’ll Come Running)” by Brett Dennen — DJ TBD: This guy’s voice is very interesting but strangely endearing to me, pop/folk sound.
  22. “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus — DJ Nightshade: I can’t stand music like this normally, but there is just something magical about Miley — never thought I’d write that sentence, ever.
  23. “Honey I’m Good” by Andy Grammar — DJ LSquared: It’s just too d—n catchy!!!! AHHHH.
  24. “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay — DJ Foxhill: Chris Martin’s vocals are amazing, and the song itself is really unique, as far as pop songs go.
  25. “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins — DJ Slepprechaun: Disney Tarzan for lyfe!

  26. “I Will Survive” by Cake — DJ Cruz.
  27. “Kids” by MGMT — DJ Mimi: It was one of the first songs I ever listened to in middle school and I still play it on my show occasionally! Very catchy — one of the songs you get sick of but still find yourself dancing whenever it comes on.
  28. “Semi-Charmed Life” by Third Eye Blind — DJ Squid: They are actually still around and touring. They just don’t get mad at bread.
  29. “One Time” by Justin Bieber — DJ Nova.
  30. “Screaming Infidelities” by Dashboard Confessional — DJ Rooster.
  31. “Photograph” by Nickelback — Stat Cat.
  32. “Buy U a Drank” by T—Pain — DJ Stitchworth.

The playlist can be accessed on Spotify by searching “KCSU guilty pleasures.” Stay guilty, CSU.
