Four local bands you should be listening to

ram-rumble

Fort Collins has such a rich music culture. There are so many great bands here that it is hard to keep up. Don’t worry, fellow rams, we have you covered. Here are just a few local bands you should be listening to if you aren’t already.

Marti and the Dads formed late last year. Their sound is experimental garage rock. These guys are definitely destined for big things in the future. They have collaborated with Denver band Panther Martin on a split EP that is definitely worth a listen. Catch them at Illegal Pete’s during FoCoMX

Lanedecay is noise rock goodness. This trio has played a lot of shows around town lately. More often than not, you can find them at Illegal Pete’s playing a packed show. They are like a chilled out Dinosaur Jr. with fuzztone vocals and surfy guitar riffs.

Whisper Wolf

Whisper Wolf is a blast from the past. Their style is similar to early pop punk with a little indie pop flair. Brand New is the best band to compare their music to. If you love pop punk, definitely try and check out one of their shows.

Slow Caves is the synth punk band Fort Collins has been waiting for. Their recent EP has gained much notoriety in the local scene. I dare you not to dance at one of their shows. They are so engaging and have an energy in their music that won’t quit and transfers well on the stage.
