The Colorado Springs City Council has decided to put a hold on the recently legal marijuana market. Tuesday the final vote was 7-2, initiating a six-month ban on local dispensaries, according to an article published in The Gazette.

There will be 188 businesses closing as a result of this moratorium.

“People are going to go out of business,” said Clifton Black, an attorney representing a medical marijuana shop. “We’re focused on an industry that’s highly regulated and follows a lot of rules.”

This break will give the city council time to revitalize marijuana regulations. To learn more about the dispensaries closing and how this will affect their long-term business plans, check out the full story.
