Two years ago Colorado approved a limit of 5 nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood in stoned drivers. Those who exceed this maximum are charged with a DUID, driving under the influence of drugs.

Many argue that there was no sufficient evidence to back up this standard, according to Westword news. A new study released in September of 2015 suggests that the state should take a closer look at these numbers.

Scientists behind the study recommend that this standard be increased from 5 nanograms to 13.1 nanograms. They found this number is equivalent to the alcohol intoxication limit, 0.8 BAC.
