List of medical marijuana conditions grows longer in Illinois

Illinois has added eight new conditions to the list of illnesses that qualify to receive medical marijuana treatment, according to Leafly News. One of which, autism, has never been a qualifying condition in any state.

These are the new conditions, as seen in the article published on Leafly, that are being added to the current list of 39 illnesses:

  1. Chronic pain due to trauma
  2. Chronic pain syndrome
  3. Chronic post-operative pain
  4. Intractable pain
  5. Osteoarthritis
  6. Autism
  7. Irritable bowel syndrome
  8. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

The Medical Cannabis Advisory Board approved these conditions Wednesday and they were officially added to the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act.
