Illinois has added eight new conditions to the list of illnesses that qualify to receive medical marijuana treatment, according to Leafly News. One of which, autism, has never been a qualifying condition in any state.

These are the new conditions, as seen in the article published on Leafly, that are being added to the current list of 39 illnesses:

  1. Chronic pain due to trauma
  2. Chronic pain syndrome
  3. Chronic post-operative pain
  4. Intractable pain
  5. Osteoarthritis
  6. Autism
  7. Irritable bowel syndrome
  8. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

The Medical Cannabis Advisory Board approved these conditions Wednesday and they were officially added to the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act.
