Fort Collins High School under lock down due to “toy gun” incident

UPDATE 3:55 p.m. Fort Collins High School under lock down due to “toy gun” incident

A citizen observed a juvenile male walking in a filed by Fort Collins High School carrying what appeared to be a “toy gun” pointing at the ground and notified the school.

Fort Collins High School was placed on precautionary lockdown for about 25 minutes during the incident.

A 15-year-old was contacted inside the school in possession of an air-soft gun, according to Fort Collins Police spokesperson Rita Davis.

3:00 p.m. Police in pursuit

Police are in pursuit after receiving a call at 2:35 p.m. that a juvenile was allegedly seen around Fort Collins High School grounds with a BB gun.

Fort Collins High School is not on lock down, and no one has been shot, according to Fort Collins Police spokesperson Rita Davis.

Fort Collins High School had no comment at this time.
