High Country Beverage and MillerCoors giving away trip to CSU vs. Alabama game

High Country Beverage, a locally-owned and operated beverage distributor serving Northern Colorado and the Western Slope, has partnered up with MillerCoors to give away a trip for two to the CSU vs. Alabama football game Sept. 21, 2013.

CSU football fans can enter to win at various retailers in Northern Colorado or online at the NoCo Nightlife Facebook page, www.facebook.com/noconightlife. The winner will receive two tickets to the game, airfare and a hotel. The trip is for three days and two nights, Sept. 20 through Sept. 22, 2013.

The winner will be announced on-air during the first 2013 Coors Light Jim McElwain Coach’s Show, Aug. 29, 2013. Listeners can tune in at 105.5 FM or online at csurams.com.

Larimer County animal shelters to host joint adoption event

On Saturday, July 20, three Larimer County animal welfare organizations — Larimer Humane Society, Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue & Grooming — will unite for their annual joint super adoption event, “We Are Family.”  The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Poudre Pet and Feed’s north location at 622 N. College Ave. in Fort Collins.

Healthy cats, dogs, kittens, puppies and small mammals of virtually every size, breed and personality from the three organizations will be available for adoption at a discounted rate. Free food and kids’ activities will be provided throughout the day.

The super adoption event is designed with the intent of saving more animals’ lives in Northern Colorado, and demonstrates the partnership among the open-door and limited-admission shelters of Larimer County, according to a news release.

“We are so thankful to Poudre Pet & Feed Supply for hosting the Super Adoption Event for a third year and are excited to share in celebrating their 25th anniversary,” said Sarah Swanty, executive director for Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic in a news release.

Larimer Humane Society, Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic, and Animal House Rescue and Grooming cared for more than 9,000 homeless dogs and cats in the last year.

All dog and cat adoptions include initial vaccines, treatment for internal parasites, spay or neuter surgery, a safety collar, microchip and registration, and a post-adoption medical exam donated by a local veterinarian. Adult dogs and cats, as well as puppies and kittens four months of age and older also receive a rabies vaccination.

An additional $12 licensing fee applies for all dogs and cats that will be residing in Loveland, Fort Collins, Wellington and Timnath and dogs in unincorporated Larimer County.
