Durrell intake fan catches fire

Correction: In an earlier version of this story, it was incorrectly stated that a student pulled a fire alarm in Westfall Residence Hall. In fact, it was a CSU employee. The Collegian regrets its error.

A CSU Police Department public information officer confirmed Monday that a CSU employee pulled a fire alarm in Westfall Residence Hall earlier today after smelling smoke. A Durrell intake fan had malfunctioned and caught fire, prompting the Poudre Fire Authority to respond.

No significant damage appears to have resulted from the fire and an investigation into its cause is taking place.
