Meet the Photographer: Matt Begeman

Matt Begeman has been working as a photojournalist for The Collegian for 3 1/2 years. Begeman is a health and exercise science student at Colorado State University.
Every Friday, The Collegian posts a photographer’s favorite photo they’ve taken for the Photo Desk on Instagram. Referring to the first photo below, Begeman said:

One of my favorite photos was at a track meet at Iowa State. The photo is of senior CSU athlete Ali Kallner standing at the starting line of a 3,000-meter race where she goes on to break the school record. I really enjoy this photo because there is an intensity in her eyes that is focused on the race. the framing is unique and gives the image a nice depth of field.”
