A celebration of the Buddhist faith took place in Los Angeles over the weekend, and many people are talking about the beauty of their rituals.

“With the sounds of Vietnamese monks chanting 100 feet away, Phillip Au sat in vigil graveside at Greenwood Memorial Park to honor the memory of his mother, Truong Thi Lang, who died in 2006.

“Today,” the Lemon Grove resident said, “is about remembering your father and your mother and anybody who has passed away.””
