Health officials in Alberta have advised people looking to get tattoos to do their research first, according to an article in Global News.

“Body art is something that should be done in as safe an environment as possible and as clean an environment as possible,” said Dr. Chris Sikora, a medical officer of health with Alberta Health Services, in an interview with Global News.

Among the many things that prospective customers should check a shop for is sterile needles.
