It’s no secret that the popularity of tattoos has grown over the years. But with the rise in the number of people getting tattooed comes a rise in the number of them that want tattoos removed, according to an article from ABC Radio National.
“Of course, the permanence of the tattoo is a huge part of its appeal. There have been experiments with semi-permanent inks that are easily removed in a single laser treatment, but they’ve been commercial failures,” the article reads.

Originally, tattoo removal involved scarring and skin grafts, but has become easier with the wide-spread use of lasers.
