Klaus Pichler’s photo project documents the intimate lives of Austrian cosplayers wearing their costumes at home. 

“The final series includes everyone from Furries — those who dress up like fictional anthropomorphized animals — and LARP, or live action role-playing, characters who act out fantasy scenarios in real-world settings — to people dressed as Krampus, a beast-like creature from Germanic folklore that is supposed to appear during Yule season to punish children who have misbehaved (as opposed to Saint Nicholas, who rewards children with gifts for good behavior),” according to WIRED. 

However, according to Pichler, not all of the cosplayers approached were up for the photo shoot and only about one in nine agreed to participate.
