For the second time this season, Colorado State setter Deedra Foss has been named the Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week. The award is Foss’ fourth career honor, joining Mekana Barnes (6), Angela Knopf (6), Megan Plourde (5) and Courtney Cox (4) as CSU’s only four-time recipients.

In two matches, the senior recorded 13.33 assists, 1.17 blocks and 1.00 kills per set – all above her season averages. Foss’ assists-per-set average was 1.69 per set higher than her season average, which leads the MW and ranks fifth nationally.

Against Nevada on Saturday, Foss had 45 assists – a personal best for a three-set match – and a team-high-tying four blocks. She had 24 assists in the first set alone, in which CSU fought off three Nevada set point opportunities before winning, 32-30.

For her career, Foss has 4,668 assists, fifth-most in CSU history and the most during the 25-point scoring era.

The weekly award is CSU’s fifth of the season, tied for the second-most in a single season in program history. Earlier this fall, CSU won the award four times during a five-week period.
