UTFAB and UFFAB are in discussion right now about enacting a student fee increase which could increase student fees by possibly $18 to attend to the abysmal state of our Wi-Fi and building projects around campus. And while it pains us to think about shelling out extra money on top of tuition, textbooks, room and board and other necessary expenditures that we have to make when it comes to higher education, these increases very well may be justified.
The thing to keep in mind is that students are the only funding that the University has, and sometimes paying up is the only way to see the University thrive. We all want to have buildings on campus that we can be proud of and facilities that aesthetically attest to the top-notch education that we’re receiving here at CSU.

And we’ve all spent enough time complaining about Wi-Fi on campus to understand that sometimes, fixing the problem requires a little cash. It would be such a relief to walk onto campus and immediately get a strong Wi-Fi signal that is not going to take three and a half hours to connect to and that will not disconnect in three minutes for no apparent reason.
As students, we may not have expendable cash, but in the grand scheme of things, this is not the end of the world. And if it will truly be used for more aesthetically-pleasing buildings on campus and boosting the strength of our Wi-Fi, then those are things that we can justify paying for.
