No riots this year, please

We’re all super excited to have the Broncos in the Super Bowl. It’s going to be a fantastic game, and having the great state of Colorado being represented is something to celebrate.

But, let’s not forget that riots broke out in response to football victories in 1999 and 2009. We all love a good game but you’re going to care a lot less about who won or lost if you’re sitting in a jail cell after a party that got a little out of hand.

After the Fort Collins riot that broke out last April, eight CSU students were charged with misdemeanors and had their names raked through the media for their involvement. The instigator was just sentenced to 180 days in jail for his involvement. Fort Collins police and judiciary do not mess around when it comes to dolling out punishment when we get too out of control.

If the Broncos do come out ahead in this game, we’ll all be celebrating, but lets not take it too far.

Go Broncos!
