With a valid student ID, Rams can rent technology, from video games to phone chargers, on campus.
Technology necessities for students are available at stands in the Lory Student Center and Behavioral Science Building.

“The Laptop Checkout stations were created to help meet the technology needs of students,” said Mike Brake, assistant director for the Center for Advising and Student Achievement.
The technology stands offer Mac laptops, a variety of phone and laptop chargers and even video games for the Xbox and Wii, according to Samantha Conway, a lab staff employee.
“Each item is available to checkout for free for up to six hours with a valid CSU ID,” Conway said. “It’s cool because they can be used anywhere on or outside of campus.”
CASA IT Manager Jake Gunn said the stands were born from the “e-cave” computer lab that existed in the LSC before renovation.
“We decided to continue with the same idea in a more convenient way,” Gunn said.
According to Brake, the technology was originally a resource for undeclared students without access to a department computer lab. The stands are still funded by undeclared technology fees, and run by students.
“However, because of the locations, high demand and the fact that over 30 percent of all students will be undeclared at some point, we opened up to all students, regardless of major,” Brake said.
Gunn said the technology stands are an important resource to students.
“The stands are really helpful to a lot of people,” Gunn said. “They’ve become part of a lot of people’s daily routine.”
