The Plant Environmental Research Center will be relocating to an area south of campus in order to make room for the new stadium. Construction of the new facilities will cost $7.5 million and they will open Summer 2015, according to a press release.
PERC’s current location will be dismantled after Oct. 1, when graduate student research projects are completed.

The new greenhouses will be located on the corner of Centre Avenue and Bay Drive, directly south of the Aggie Village Apartments.
According to SOURCE, Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences Craig Beyrouty said the new greenhouses and facilities will better reflect the role that CSU’s academics play in supporting Colorado’s green industry. The new buildings will enhance connections between CSU and the community, according to Beyrouty.
“In essence, we’re creating a horticulture research park in the center of Fort Collins,” Beyrouty said in the press release.
The new facility will host research and growing for the Annual Flower Trial Garden‘s future seasons, as well as horticulture and floriculture programs.
“The current greenhouses are older and in need of updating,” said Jason Kosovski, director of communications for the College of Agricultural Sciences. “This facility will be modernized in terms of the interactive equipment.”
The current research facilities on West Lake Street have been maintained since 1949. Kosovski said the new research facility will be in an ideal place geographically.
“There are not a lot of greenhouses being built across the country,” Kosovski said. “For CSU to be able to build a facility like this sets us apart from our peers.”
