Colorado State University’s earned No. 58 in U.S News and World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges”, a result of a steady incline in the ranking of best public universities in 2015.
According to a press release, CSU has moved up in the ranking nine spots over the span of two years.

There are many possible factors that contribute to CSU’s current ranking, from advancements in faculty to construction to improve facilities.
The magazine acknowledges CSU for:
- More than 150 degrees in eight colleges offered
- Graduate programs in the schools of business, engineering and education
- College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
- The university as a leading research universities, specifically acknowledging CSU’s research with “atmospheric science, infections disease, clean energy technologies and environmental science”
- 350 campus organizations
- About 35 fraternities and sororities
- A variety of different levels for athletics (recreational, club, and varsity)
- Competition in NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference
