Monday Night, a boy scout troop of 23 scouts, was hit by a single lightening strike at Griswold Scout Reservation. According to Outside Online No one was seriously injured, “but a a few scouts were given cardiac monitors for burns in their chest area.”
Several adult scout leaders were hit as well, “All reported a tingling sensation after the strike”

The National Weather Service Lightning Safety website says “The threat that someone will being struck by lightning depends on their behavior when thunderstorms are in the area.” The Boy Scout Troop was being smart by taking cover under a shelter, because the NWS says that when “Thunder Roars, Go Indoors.”
