Mad scientists, movies and more

Loveland’s Rialto Theater Center will be holding a Mad Scientist Silent Movie Night Halloween event featuring drinks, treats and two silent films.

The event will take place on Halloween night at 6 p.m. with a themed cocktail hour followed by back to back screenings of Harold Lloyd’s Haunted Spooks and the 1920s classic hit ­Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The films will start at 7 p.m. and will be accompanied by live performances from the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra. Guest are encouraged to dress as mad scientists, monsters or other appropriate creatures.

Tickets are $10 and will be available at the Rialto Theater Box Office. Appetizers and beverages will be available for purchase before the screening and during a brief intermission, and will also be allowed in the theater.
