CSU alum Bill Halamicek’s product, Hangover Painover, is a valiant attempt but not a cure

Human beings have performed incredibly innovative accomplishments in the world. The Wright Brothers and the airplane, Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, but one thing we’ve never been able to discover: a cure for a hangover.

Bill Halamicek, a Colorado State alum, has made a valiant attempt to do what no other human has done before with Hangover Painover. While it certainly will not make your hangover any worse; unfortunately, it is not an end-all cure-all for a hangover.

I decided to find out for myself if Hangover Painover really worked.

The cause of my hangover: four shots of Fireball and six cans of Busch heavy. Maybe seven, I don’t remember. Let’s just say a lot of Busch. I woke up on a friend’s couch and had to collect my thoughts to remember where I was, seeing as the last thing I remember was taking a shot of thick, cinnamon poison. I was hesitant to move or open my eyes because I knew that as soon as I did, I’d quickly find out if I was hungover or not. Needless to say, I was, and it hurt … badly.

Hangover Painover comes in powder form in a little blue packet. It’s kind of like an adult fruit punch flavored Kool-Aid, at least it smells like it when you tear into the package. The remedy is packed with B and C vitamins to help refuel your body with all the nutrients that left due to the alcohol. It can also be taken before a night of drinking to prevent a hangover.

I poured the contents into a glass and added water because it was the closest liquid to me. You can mix this powder with any kind of beverage. I could see it pairing well with Gatorade or Powerade. I chugged the Flintstones Vitamin-tasting drink, laid in bed and waited.

My hangovers always include a severe headache. I never seem to have stomach problems or vomit due to alcohol. After about 45 minutes, I could feel my headache lighten up a little bit, but the gross hangover feeling still lingered throughout the rest of the day.

Hangover Painover can be purchased at Wilbur’s Total BeverageC&C Liquor and can also be ordered online at hangoverpainover.com.

Everyone has a different experience with hangovers. Some people say they never get hungover. Some hangovers last only through the morning. My hangovers last all day and sometimes into the next. The Hangover Painover may be what you need depending on the severity of your hangover. No matter how bad the hangover, always remember to drink a ton of water and get plenty of sleep.

Just because it did not work for me does not mean it can’t work for you. Give it a shot.
