Three days of unconventional theatre performances at the annual Fringe Festival is returning to Fort Collins this weekend. The festival will showcase 64 performances from original to experimental works. Over 75 local playwrights will be featured, and many of the performances will include professional, amateur and even student practitioners.

This is the fourth year for the festival. It will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 14 and run through Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will take place at multiple venues including the Museum of Discovery Dome Theatre, Create Places, Heritage Courtyard in Library Park, Wolverine Farm Letterpress and Publick House. One of the main draws for the crowd this year is the diversity of the performances and how close all the venues are in relation to each other.

Attendees can expect to see short films, dance crews and even a Doctor Who movie. There will be plenty to enjoy for all ages. Audiences will also have the chance to vote for the Ace Gillett’s Audience Choice Award during the weekend.

“You can find just about anything here, from narrative dances to improv,” said Heather Johnson, producer for The Fort Collins Fringe Festival.
