The opportunity to go to college is a privilege. But more importantly, the opportunity to attend a top university as a person of color is an important step toward achieving their dreams.
Ah summer, the one time in our very busy schedule that we get to relax in the sun and enjoy a perfect break from the busyness that we call life. Or at least that is what we think we will be doing until summertime actually arrives and we are challenged with the task of making the most out of every day.
Autism exists on a spectrum, and so do the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Both are forms of neurodiversity, simply meaning your brain is wired a little differently and you might experience difficulty fitting into a neurotypically crafted world.

Now that the weather is getting nice, my friends and I are thrilled that we can do outside activities again. We’ve been hiking, swimming, playing volleyball or spike ball, but more than anything, my friends love to climb.

If you attend Colorado State University’s campus on a regular basis, witnessing students listening to music on their commutes to and from class is extremely common. Also, seeing that CSU is a fairly large campus containing nearly 4,800 acres, it makes perfect sense that people implement music into their daily lives to make their commutes more enjoyable.
Now, the specific method that each commuter chooses to listen to their music varies. There are many different types of headphones to choose from, and even speakers that students use to enhance their audio experience. Although, if you are one of these people who listen to music on campus with a blaring speaker, please stop, it is very annoying.
Trends come in waves and in many forms — whether it’s a TikTok dance, a trending sound or a sudden interest in heavy patterns. Generation Z has been particularly influential in shaping trends over the last few years, and the pandemic pushing everyday interactions online has only amplified that influence.
One in three women experiences sexual or physical violence in their lifetime, according to the World Health Organization. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, which draws attention to sexual violence survivors in the United States and around the world. However, this idea of awareness seems to exclude a very prominent portion of the United States — Indigenous people.

Instead of prioritizing profit, why can’t we switch the conversation to “How can I be happy?” It’s clear that even if we do prioritize profit, it’s hard to even get a foot in the door and actually become successful in that way.
On March 31, Fort Collins hosted its first-ever Transgender Day of Visibility protest that discussed the issues appearing in legislation being proposed to discriminate against those who identify as transgender. The protest was announced in The Coloradoan on March 28 to invite those interested in attending.
Within Colorado, there are many forms of legislation that have been set in place to protect those within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as reproductive rights. However, there are still legislators who try to propose bills that will challenge the legislation that is put in place to protect those who are being challenged daily throughout the nation.
Public servants tend to come in the form of government officials, but in our current political climate, it seems our expectations about what public servants should be doing for the public are a little blurry.
Someone serving the public should represent the public, which is why we are in charge of electing these officials. This is also why it’s so important for anyone who can vote to make sure they do in every election — although a lot of people focus on national elections or state-wide elections, local elections are an area that allows one to get a feel for politics.
