Pow Wow 101 educates community ahead of 35th Annual AISES Pow Wow

Jan Iron, an IT Professional in the Agriculture Experiment Station and a member of the Navajo tribe, gave a quick presentation on the history, traditions and expectations of Pow Wows on Thursday evening. The talk was meant to educate the CSU community ahead of the 35th Annual AISES Pow Wow that will take place in the Lory Student Center Ballrooms on Saturday, November 4. The Pow Wow is part of CSU's celebration of Native American Heritage Month.

CSU to host 35th Annual AISES Pow Wow for Native American Heritage Month Saturday

To kick off Native American Heritage Month, the 35th annual AISES Pow Wow comes to Colorado State University. A Pow Wow is a celebration of Native American culture, history and values for multiple indigenous nations and tribes, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica. It is a place for singing, dancing, eating and overall honoring the traditions of Native Americans.
