Buddhism Under The Microscope

Buddhist Monk

Many people, especially younger Americans, have taken up Eastern religions by storm. Buddhism, being one of the more popular choices, is currently being discussed in an upcoming symposium.

“The Women’s Interfaith Dialogue of Oak Ridge will host a presentation on Buddhism at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Jewish Congregation, 101 W. Madison Lane, Oak Ridge. Barbara Carter, a soon-to-be Buddhist lay minister and longtime Knoxville resident, will be the presenter, according to a news release. A short guided meditation and period of walking meditation will follow her talk. “I am happy to share my experience and understanding of the basics of Buddhism as a practice and way of life,” Carter said . The event is free and open to the public.”
