Henna designs, what some people call a temporary tattoo, are an ancient art form, dating back 6,000 years ago when it was used as a hair dye. Henna, a flowering plant, was also used as a skin dye and played a pivotal role in ancient (and modern) bridal and mating rituals in countries such as Egypt, South Africa and India.
