Artist surprised by ‘Divergent’ role

Tattoos used in movies. For tattoo artist Nigel Palmer, the realization that his portfolio inspired the tattoos in “Divergent” came as a sudden surprise when an MTV writer called for an interview about his unique style, according to MTV’s Brenna Ehrlich.

“To be honest I didn’t know anything about it,” Palmer told MTV News. “That’s sort of really nice and I didn’t realize that my work is spread around that much. I’m pretty slow at updating my website. I don’t really promote myself. I just do my work.”

Now that he knows about his role in the character’s design, Palmer hopes to collaborate with the studio on the tattoos used in future films.
