Has getting a tattoo lost its edge?

SONY DSCAs more and more people get tattoos, the art runs the risk of becoming too mainstream and no longer being a statement of individuality. At least, that’s what Telegraph columnist Scroobius Pip believes. 

“Anything that’s cool will be cool for a while, and then it becomes normalised. That doesn’t make it s***, it just means it wasn’t what it was,” Pip writes.

He believes that in order to remain a counter culture, body modification will move towards the extreme such as carving.
