Chicago police officer critisized for profiling tattoos

Standing outside a punk rock club in Chicago, Ian Wise did not suspect the woman who approached him to discuss his tattoos as an undercover police officer, according to the Chicago Sun Times in an editorial.

The police officer faces criticisms for profiling as an anarchist based on his tattoos.

“The police officer, Nadia Chikko, took special note of Wise’s tattoo depicting Mexican revolutionary figure Emiliano Zapata and said he’d expressed the opinion that ‘police are oppressive and need to be stopped’,” according to the Times.
