Nissan’s new electric engine shows the companies ability to make something that not only weighs nearly nothing – 88 pounds – but an engine that packs 400 horsepower, according to WIRED magazine.

“With a displacement of just 1.5 liters, the lil’ mill has a better power-to-weight ratio than the high-revving V6 engines that power this year’s Formula 1 racers,” WIRED reporter Damon Lavrinc wrote.
