Mannequins receive much needed makeover

After years of criticism for a lack of realism, store front mannequins began receiving a makeover to show them in more realistic sizes and body types, according the Huffington Post Style.

The change shows the desire of shops to relate to more women and show them what designs would look like on them. They hope the effort will bring in more shoppers to the stores when most consumers are buying online.

“This comes after two decades of stores cutting back on mannequins to save money,” according to Associated Press reporter Anne D’innocenzio.
