State flags see new designs for unity

The state flags of the 50 states are many things, but coordinated is not one of them, according to Philadelphia based artist Ed Mitchell.

After listening to a podcast on local flag design, Mitchell realized that many of the state flags do not follow  the design laws for flags and wanted to design a set that had a uniformed theme.

“‘Mitchell’s first move was to strip away “everything that reminded me of a divided nation,’ he writes,” according to WIRED.
