One of the interesting things about conventions like comic con is the variance in art and style demonstrated by the artists. Jim Mahfood, an L.A. based comic book artist known best for his “Grrl Scouts Tank Girl”, showed his stripes at the NY Comic Con through his gender-swapped Justice League.

“I always incorporate the music I’m listening to while making the books I’ve done,” Mahfood told WIRED Magazine.

In addition to music, Mahfood’s style is heavily influenced by L.A. hip-hop and street culture.
