Fully automated parking has been promised for much of the recent past, however, Ford’s Fully Assisted Parking Aid could finally be what everyone has been asking for. 

The system would feature sensors on the side of the car that would allow for the the vehicle to park itself whether the driver is in the car or outside it.

“Fully Assisted Parking Aid only works when the driver holds a button in the car for the duration of the maneuver or, if he’s outside, continue to retain pressure on a separate button (likely on the key fob or a smartphone app), ‘enabling them to cancel or override the system at any time.'” Ford told WIRED Magazine.
