Whose heart didn’t melt when the Prince began to cry for his father? Disney has taken their nameless, stoic prince charming up a peg, not only giving Prince Kit a name, but giving him compassion, love, and emotion to round out his character and make him more human. 

In all my years of watching princess movies, there are a few normalities to be expected. There is a beautiful, young princess; a handsome, brave prince; and usually, a wedding at the end. The characters don’t tend to vary much, and they have never needed to develop.
