Tattoo history museum in Paris

Paris museum explores history of tattoosThe study of tattoos in history has been explored in anthropology classes, journals and countless museums. Now, Paris’ museum of indigenous arts explores the long history of tattooing has joined the ranks of tattoo history exhibits, according to EuroNews.

“Throughout history, tattoos have been performed for medicinal purposes or to prevent disease. There are tattoos that are supposed to have a magical function, to capture bad spirits,” said anthropologist Sébastien Galliot, scientific advisor to the exhibition, in an interview with the magazine.
