10 reasons tattoo artists don’t respect tattoo shows

As interesting and occasionally funny as tattoo reality shows can be, on the whole they are annoying to those who practice the craft in day to day life. The constant push for better ratings and more drama takes away from the art and the appreciation those who do and collect tattoos have, according to Detroit tattoo artist Dawn Cooke. 

“There is a war between the real traditionalists who are true to their craft and the tattoo rock and roll super star wannabes. This is more of a mentality than it is a style, per se,” Cooke writes.

She goes on to list ten of the top reasons that these shows and the mentality brought with them annoy her and her fellow artists.
