Despite the ongoing review of stricter tattoo policies within the US army, rules have been set into place in order to accommodate for tattoos, facial hair and other forms of religious dedication within the military, according to The International News.
“The new policy states that military departments will accommodate religious requests of service members unless they have an adverse effect on military readiness, mission accomplishment, unit cohesion, and good order and discipline,” spokesman Lieutenant Commander Nate Christensen said to the International News in a statement.

The policy was reviewed after Sikh soldiers requested unit members be able to wear turbans or facial hair while in uniform.
