The next time the local tin-foil hat man starts ranting about aliens or the coming apocalypse, it may be worth paying attention to. In fact, instances of paranoid theories coming true populate everyday life throughout history, according the Cracked writer Gavin Jamieson. 

People deemed clinically insane predicted events such as the NSA wire taps to Pearl Harbor to the CIA’s kick off of the drug epidemic.

“A paranoid suspicion is just a truth that sounds too crazy to be real until it bites you right in the ass with its supernaturally powerful mandibles,” Jamieson writes.
