Former CSU linebacker Shaquil Barrett (48) was promoted to the Denver Broncos’ active roster Wednesday.

The Denver Broncos added linebacker Shaquil Barrett to their active roster on Wednesday, the team announced in a release.

A 6-foot-2, 250-pound rookie, Barrett went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft before signing with the team on May 10, 2014.

In three seasons at CSU, Barrett started 35 of 38 games, totaling 246 tackles, 18 sacks, which ranks in the top-10 in Colorado State history, 32.5 tackles for a loss, three interceptions, six passes defensed, seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and three blocked kicks. He was also named the 2013 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, 2013 Gildan New Mexico Bowl Defensive MVP and was invited to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl Game.
