Senior dance major, Emma Kimball and UCA guest director, Sanaz Ghajarrahimi are still recovering from a car accident that occurred Thursday night on Prospect road.
Kimball was released last night from The Medical Center of the Rockies after sustaining moderate injuries. Ghajarrahimi is still in serious condition.
Ghajarrahimi is the guest director for the show, “Orestes 2.0” by Charles Mee, which is still scheduled to perform Oct. 10-20, according to the UCA’s website.
UPDATE (11:14 a.m.):
A CSU student along with two others were involved in a car accident on Prospect Thursday night that fatally injured one driver, according to a press release from the Fort Collins Police Department.
CSU student and driver Emma Kimball sustained moderate injuries, while passenger Sanaz Ghajarrahimi is in serious condition.
The two were hit in a head-on collision by Fort Collins resident Michael Dziendziel, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
Based on witness accounts, police believe that Kimball’s car (a Dodge Neon Sedan) was stationary and facing westbound on Prospect Lane, attempting to make a left turn onto Prospect Road.
Dziendziel’s car (a Ford Crown Victoria Sedan) was believed to have been traveling west on Prospect Road at a high speed, and to have collided with the rear of the Neon. Dziendziel’s car is then thought to have sped off the right side of the road, traveled through two yards and into a tree.
Prospect road, between Sheeley Drive and Centre Avenue, was closed last night for 9 hours while the police conducted their investigation and has now been reopened.
The police are continuing to investigate the collision and whether Dziendziel was driving under the influence while driving.

Two cars headed west on Prospect Road were involved in an apparent high-speed collision, leaving two women in a red Dodge Neon and one man in a Pontiac unconscious and with noticeable lacerations, according to eyewitnesses.
“We were all studying at our house, and all of a sudden we heard a large crash,” said Sam Warren, a senior sports medicine major among the first to respond to the scene, which unfolded at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday. “To me it sounded like an entire semi flipped on its side.”
Warren ran outside with his roommate to discover two bystanders checking on the driver and passenger trapped in the Dodge Neon, after it had apparently been severely rear-ended, leading him to run over to the Pontiac laying in a driveway farther down on the other side of the street.
“I heard him gargling. He was completely unconscious,” Warren said.
Police have shut down traffic headed east and west on Prospect Road. Nine police units, three firetrucks and two ambulances were reportedly on the scene as of 12:20 a.m. Friday.
Lanes will reopen at around 8 a.m.
Warren said he saw one of the victims transported from the scene in a Flight for Life helicopter. The Jaws of Life were used to rescue the two women in the red Dodge Neon, although it is unclear whether one was also whisked away by the medical chopper.
Eyewitnesses said the three injured individuals appeared to be the same age as CSU students.
Fort Collins Police Services Officer Kyle Miller could not immediately release information about the incident because it is currently under investigation. Official details are expected to emerge Friday morning.
