Lyric Cinema Cafe’s new location will bring better entertainment to FoCo

Fort Collins’ beloved local theater Lyric Cinema Café is moving out of the heart of Fort Collins. Their new location will be off of North College Avenue, across the street from Jax Outdoor Gearno. While it is saddening to think that the Lyric will no longer be in Old Town, the new location will offer lots of benefits to film lovers and casual appreciators alike.

The new location will provide greater efficiency. The Lyric will be able to screen up to three movies at a time, as opposed to only two that they can screen in the current location. Additionally, with the extra room, the Lyric will be able to offer more casual seating options, like their famous big couches, that so many people in Fort Collins are attracted to.

Aside from being spacious, the Lyric owners are designing the new location from scratch. This means that the current style of the Lyric, which is one of the theater’s biggest attractions, will be amplified to a new level. The Lyric owners have been able to create an iconic venue in Fort Collins, with little space to work with. It must have been challenging to transform their current tiny building into the fun atmosphere that local film buff’s love. With more space, imagine the possibilities at the new location.

We also have to look to the fact that the Lyric is known for its movie-themed events. Unfortunately, these exciting festivities are often sold out. When the Lyric moves to a bigger location that can be designed to perfectly accommodate large crowds, this problem will go away.

More excitingly, the new location will offer brand new attractions, including a restaurant, patio seating and an outdoor screen, which will allow the Lyric to offer bike-in movies. These additions to the Lyric’s current offerings will give Fort Collins residents even more activities to partake in, while celebrating their love for film.

The Lyric is a Fort Collins’ favorite. Change can be hard sometimes, but it almost always brings unexpected results that are worth the unhappy feelings felt initially. The Lyric move will bring the Fort Collins community more entertainment, and most importantly, more opportunities to engage in the timeless experience of going to the movies, but in Lyric Cinema Café style.
