Picture this: the buzzer just sounded for the University of Maryland v. Colorado State University March Madness game. Camera angles zoom in on CSU players snot-nosed, teary eyed, violently group-hugging in an intensely boy manner — mostly dap-ups lost within a symphony of “bro’s” and other love confessions. But the second that the video stops rolling, Niko Medved turns to the crowd and says, “It isn’t over yet, bitches.”
I was born in Colorado. There aren't many places in the world I’d rather be from, and I’m proud to be an American. Growing up, I sang “America the Beautiful,” performed the national anthem on a recorder in elementary school and even led the Pledge of Allegiance a few times in high school. Today, even though I love my country, I am so scared for her and the vulnerable people within.

Popular dancing shows often introduce the general population to new dancing styles like the cha-cha, paso doble, Viennese waltz and Charleston. These are only some of the many styles of dance there are in the world, and in recent years, I have seen firsthand the increase in popularity of a different dance style: country dancing.

There are two types of people: those who love to wear cowboy boots and sing along to country music and those who would rather not entertain that whole Western vibe. Ultimately, being a hater of the Western theme is a phase. It's a rite of passage, something many of us go through during our younger years when we feel the pressure to conform to what we think is cool.

Chances are, if you live in Fort Collins, you have likely seen the Alpha Center on College Avenue. Though it may not be obvious from its generic name or unassuming exterior, the Alpha Center is a facility that claims to offer services to pregnant people, specifically to individuals experiencing unplanned pregnancies.
There is nothing remotely freeing about April 2, the day Donald Trump coined “Liberation Day” by signing an executive order implementing tariffs on about 60 countries worldwide. Despite his intentions, the only things being liberated are the bills from our wallets and the success of the stock market.
Over the four years I have been at Colorado State University, I have only voted in one Associated Students of CSU election. Given the recent diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives that may be removed from the university without any input from students or the organization meant to represent us, I can confidently say that I won’t be voting in this year's election either.
Let's be honest — it has long been our generation's responsibility to fix the wrongs of the previous generation, and now, with the United States more polarized than ever, civic engagement and responsibility...
